Rebranding Thorvaldsens Museum
2018
DIS Copenhagen - Graphic Design Studio
During the 7-week graphic design studio of my 10-week summer study abroad in Copenhagen, I did this assignment of rebranding Throvaldsens Museum. It is a museum in Copenhagen hosting the classical sculptures and collections of Bertel Thorvaldsen, a Danish sculptor who became famous while he studied in Rome.
My logo, a Baskerville T, represents the many dualities in the museum: light and shadow, old and new, but mostly architecture and art. The left side shows the negative space of the T, representing the bold architecture, while the right side is the more sculptural form.
For this individual assignment, my class talked to a "client" at the museum, did research, created our own logos, and then made a system identity.
